Dr Julian Brown
Chairman

Dr Julian Brown, co founder of Health Amplifier, has been the vision and energy behind its mission. A General Practitioner and Diabetes Specialist in West Norfolk, Julian has also launched a suite of systems to optimise health and prescription services within the NHS. With a heartwarming passion for improving all aspects of healthcare, he is channelling this knowledge and ambition to Kikavu.

Jorge Damasceno, co founder of Health Amplifier, is the positive and inspiring driving force supporting the Kikavu projects. Jorge has spent many years working with community development and wellbeing. For fifteen years he worked in Albania helping to develop communities physically, emotionally and spiritually. He is married to his beautiful wife Mel and they have two children.

Dr August Temu
Clinical & Community Lead 

August Temu leads our clinical and community projects and is the head Doctor at our clinic. Dr Temu has led an incredibly interesting career path since graduating as a doctor in 1990. He has worked for many community health and research programmes including six years with the Red Cross. Most recently he spent two years working in Sudan before returning to be with his family in Tanzania.

Dr Sofia Lopez
Dental Lead

Sofia Lopez is leading our dental programmes. After qualifying in 2006 Sofia went on to study preventative dentistry while working in a rural Ecuadorian school. From there she specialised in Endodontics working in private clinics. However, Sofia's passion lies in community dentistry so she began her adventure in Africa volunteering in a local hospital and now with Health Amplifier.

We have fully trained our Health Activists in the health issues the community suffer with. They are the primary influence of our Community Care Plan, visiting homes to ensure families are supported in actioning the plan.
